Progress Report: From the Victims of Cruelty Working Group

Altho' it's been quiet on the outside since leaving the big multi-org meeting in Vegas last April, inside, busy brains are rockin' towards creating ways to work collectively to help the victims of cruelty: aka the pit bulls confiscated from abusive situations including dog fighting operations.

Here's a link to our e-news alert with the PROGRESS STATEMENT from the Victims of Cruelty Working Group included.

I decided to paste this photo in the blog post because, even though I hate pix of myself (Tim is way cuter), I remember exactly how I was feeling at that very moment it was taken when I see it ... Connecting with that ever-grateful dog and the realization that all this crazy work that we all do is so worth it.

This blog post and the progress report is for him ... Mr. Hopeful.

Aw shucks - there's a whole posse of people behind this movement, thunk-it.

Including you.* ;-)

♥ sweet ♥ This is a great photo-- what a moment. The emotion really comes through. We all cringe at pics of ourselves. This one is so perfect for the topic at hand.

Hey Mr. Hopeful,

I can only imagine what you were thinking with that soulful stare into those tearful eyes and rosy cheeks.

Maybe Eagles sang from you lips:
".... just gotta let it ride
The world is changing
Right before your eyes
Now I've found you
There's no more emptiness inside
When we're hungry...
Now you've given me the will to survive ..."

Or were you crooning on a less serious note by Hart & Rodger:
".. Thy vacant brow and thy tousled hair conceal thy good intent
Thou noble upright truthful sincere and slightly dopey ...
You make me smile with my heart
Your looks are laughable, unphotographable
Yet you're my favourite work of art

".. sing it long and sing it loud
and come dry your eyes..."
Boris (or maybe Neil Diamond)

my wife and I recently adopted a pit bull from http://www.mprgroup.net/ not only do you help the dogs but your website helps/supports people like us. People you will never meet. Never know. But you help us too. And inspire us to do more and more.

so thank you.

Andre - thanks for that nice feedback. It's a great feeling to be able to help, especially knowing that the knowledge you gain with your dog will ripple out to the people in your own circles.

Lynn - Mr. Hopeful left that yard with a wonderful couple who were volunteering for MABBR. They've sent photos along the way and he looks as happy as a pig in mud.
