Sweet Jasmine - An angel passes on

Sad news - Our little hero girl from the cover of Sports Illustrated has passed on. We were sad to learn that Sweet Jasmine was struck by a car and died yesterday. We don't know any of the details, but we can imagine that her adopted family is absolutely devastated.

We're all so proud of her family for giving her the life of champions. Her little face will go down in history as the face that helped change the course for pit bulls everywhere - She's immortal and cherished by us all.

Sending warm thoughts to everyone in Recycled Love today.
Bless you, sweet people!

In friendship,
BAD RAP

RIP Sweet Jasmine. While I only knew this sweet angel from the pages of a magazine, I'm deeply saddened over her sudden leave. Thank you to everyone who showed this girl kindness and love and gave her a second chance in life. And thank you, Sweet Jasmine, for showing us courage, love, how to relive life and how to forgive. My prayers and love to her family and to all who knew her.

A Desperate Rescuer - I chose not to post your note because, while I'm sure your intentions are good, your anonymity hardens your already hard message. I don't know how Jasmine met this fate, but am fairly certain that that no one is beating themselves up more than her grieving family right now. I'm sure they'll talk if they decide to share. And if they decide not to, that's okay too. The internet is a tough place to grieve.

*Thank You* for protecting Jasmine's family - anyone, and I do mean anyone, can have a dog hit by a car. There are so many ways it can happen, and many of them have nothing to do with a lack of responsibility.

Hugs to lovely Jasmine's family - the fact that we can even say she had one is such an incredible blessing. She knew love. That's all we need to know.

My heart goes out to her family for the loss of this sweet girl.
There is nothing in this world that hurts more than the loss of a "heart string"....nothing.

You will be in our thoughts, Our wish is that with each passing moment the healing vibes that we all send to your family will wrap themselves around you and help to heal you.
remember its always ok to just take a "break" from the rest of the world and find your place to grieve your loved one, she will always forever be remembered and loved in the hearts of her family, her friends and thousands of people. I see her every day I come into work as she is on my wall by my desk and its her picture that reminds mke every day of why , no matter how hard my day is, no matter how frustrated and aggravated i get and feel like I want to give up..I look at her and i see, there "IS" a wonderful bright light at the end of the tunnel for these dogs!! and i go on, So please know that your little girl gives me hope... EVERYDAY.
With all or prayers to you.

Oh so hard to hear, here in Philly when Vick is supposed to perhaps play tonight and protesters are gathering. Let them take the image of Jasmine, on Sports Illustrated (proud owner of 10 copies) to make them strong as we fight this terrible fight in Philadelphia.

To her family: rest assured that you did your very best for her and to all of us, a contribution to Recylced Love in her memory would go a long, long way, to helping more bullies in need.

Donna, can you provide the link so that we can do that?

Dina

Totally heartbreaking!! Yes, accidents can happen, they happen so suddenly and so fast regardless of all our efforts to avoid them. Any one of us I am sure has been close or experienced this, to children, to the dogs, anyone. Sometimes we are fortunate in that the incident gives us a very good scare of what could have happened. Other times, not.
My heart goes out to Jasmine's family, the pain and anguish they feel right now.
She will be remembered by many, the beautiful girl looking out from the cover of SI, a quizzical look, maybe wondering what is going on, what is going to happen, a quiet and calm look.
At least she knew what being loved meant, that good things can happen.
Shalom Sweet Jasmine......

I am so happy to have come across this webpage. It enrages me that I cannot own a pit bull because of the ignorant laws I must live under. My pittie was my best friend and it breaks my heart every morning I have to wake up without her. Losing my pittie before it was "her time" has been one of the most difficult things I have had to suffer through. I am so sad for Jasmine's family and wish them well through this rough time.

My heartfelt sympathy to all of the wonderful humans who have helped and loved Jasmine along the way. She was a lovely Poster Pup and will be remembered. How ironic that her former captor returns to the spotlight of the NFL tonight. RIP Sweet Jasmine.

RIP, gorgeous girl. You accomplished so much in a short time, touching hearts, healing hurts, and dispelling ignorance.

I find it no wonder you were called home.

My sincere sympathy to all the people involved with Jasmine and her family for their horrible loss, and my sincere gratitude for giving her all she deserved for the short time you could.

Absolutely heartbreaking. My thoughts go out to Jasmine's grieving family. They helped Jasmine be the best she could be, sending out a crucial message to everyone who even glimpsed her sweet face on SI. Folks like them restore my faith in the human race.

RIP Sweet Sweet Jasmine. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the people that had given her a second chance and showed her that there was love in this world for her. May her story be one that brought to the world so that people will know what a truly forgiving and loving breed these dogs are.
Rest in peace Jasmine, you are now in the gentle hands of God where you will only know kindness and love.

Her journey in the world was through. She accomplished the tasks she had set before herself with beauty and elegance. She will be missed in this life, but she watches over many from the other side. Thank you, Jasmine, for the role you have played in forever changing the way that pitts are treated and perceived. And thank you to all of the humans who were fortunate enough to love and care for this little angel. You made her life a small piece of heaven after he journey into hell. RIP sweet girl. You have completed your mission and it was a job well done. I hope I am lucky enough to know you on the other side.

I have included a link to this blog in the article I have posted on taking control of pet health care which includes information on vaccination contraindications. This obviously has nothing to do with what the article is about. But whenever I post an article I always list a site of the day to help bring awareness to a web site that is in some way supporting animal welfare issues. In the mentioning of this blog posting I have also posted a PSA that was done by Animal Rescue Association.org against dog fighting. I did it in memory of Jasmine. You can see the article at:
http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-11706-Salt-Lake-Alternative-Pet-Health-Examiner~y2009m8d30-Taking-responsibility-for-health-care-with-vaccination-information
The mention of Jasmine is at the bottom of the article.

I still have that issue of Sports Illustrated propted up for every client to see and anyone that ask learns something new about pit bulls. Thank you Jasmine ...I'll keep you up there!

Bless all of you that showed love and compassion to these lovely victims of such brutality. Sweet Jasmine put such a beautiful but damaged face to the horror that some humans can do. I am so sad for her people's loss but so grateful for her happily chnaged life.
