Christine Allen's son Sam turned four fingers old on Tuesday. We've had the pleasure of watching him grow from a babe to a boy with a special connection with dogs, starting with his love for homegirl Izzy, then later as one of V-dog Teddle's very first and bestest friends.
Sam's been such a true heart to the dogs, so we weren't surprised when we heard he was already giving healing hugs to newcomer Huckleberry. Happy Birthday Sam - and thank you. The world has so much to learn from your tender example.

ReplyDeleteSuch a great photo...a boy and a dog. I'm glad Huckleberry found him; he needed a good friend.
ReplyDeleteSam's the real-deal Dog Whisperer.
Happy Birthday, Sam!

Looks to me like a happy Birth Day for Huck, too.
ReplyDeleteahh, A great man in the making, and the pic couldn't be any cuter.
ReplyDeleteHugs are the bestest for both!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet and special young man! Best wishes and blessings for many more to come Sam!
ReplyDeletethe world could learn a lot from this four year old boy. happy b'day to him!
ReplyDeleteThis story should be on the front page of every newspaper in the country. Well done Sam!! You made my day (and I'm sure Huck's).
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Sam! What a great picture. And I hear almost daily how Pit Bull's aren't good around children. Whatever.....Ignorance is a terrible thing..
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the picture :)
Kids like Sam make me second-guess my decision to never have children. Sam's parents have clearly done an outstanding job raising him and passing on their values, making him their gift to the world.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Sam!
What a fabulous post!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Sam, you are clearly one special kid!!!
Happy Birthday Sam! Thank you for being such an awesome kid.
ReplyDeleteYaaaay!! *claps hands*
ReplyDeleteLook at those two sweet boys!
Happy b-day Sam, and happy new beginning Huckleberry (a.k.a. Snuggleberry). :-)
Makes my day
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you all so much for the happy birthday wishes and compliments for my boy. We'll keep you all updated on Mr. Huck as he heals up and gets happy. Keep those good vibes coming!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Big-Boy Sam,
ReplyDeleteI remember that foster wrestling - (Huck – you do have the Luck! Gosh that looks like it feels soooo good!)
I see that 4 year old experience coming out:
- get in close,
- duck under the tongue and then
- pull in that head-lock hug..
I'd like a rematch, as I believe my 3 year old maturity could get in a few passing licks.
Your mom reminds me that I still owe you a ‘replacement’ baseball bat. That will be something to look forward to next year birthday, a real bat for T-ball.
It is turning true, ALL my favorite MEN have October birthdays!
Always your,
Boris-Baby
Awww how precious that !!! Happy Birthday Sam!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Sam! And to say that is a cute picture is a HUGE understatement. Got I wish that was me hugging HUCK :)

Sure hope this photo can make it into your upcoming book. I keep coming back to look at it. And, I agree with Bonnie; "a great man in the making". Lucky parents, lucky Sam and lucky Huck. But then, there's no such thing as luck.....
