Since nothing inspires quite like our favorite fat heads, we're counting on a steady stream of haiku jewels from the pit bull front. Submit your masterpieces by May 22. Here's mine:

Poetry? Me?
"There once was a pit bull from...." never mind.... I'll leave the poetry to the creative minds out there.
Thanks for the blogs. It's always a highlight of my day to check it out for the news, the great photos and sometimes the teary-eyed stories.
Happy Mom's Day, Donna. May your fur-kids treat you well!

ReplyDeleteWho woulda thunk it?

you've shown me the way.
Marie :)
Wow -- what a picture!
ReplyDeleteI love haiku and wrote the following four years ago, shortly before my Honey dog died:
DOGS WINDING DOWN
It's the golden time
Girls eating cheese in a bone
Nothing else matters
(The title is not a yoga pose, but a double entendre signifying both the ritual my dogs enjoyed at the end of each day and how the lives of my aging girls were winding down ...)
Pink Brown White
ReplyDeleteLoving warm eyes
Crawled into my heart
Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteI hope you guys are submitting your prose to the contest.
Don't forget - 5, 7, 5
What a lovely tribute. Mine-not so much.
ReplyDeleteBSL
Brindled mount divides
fear and folklore from sentry-
The innocent die
Another one from the archives written for my Honey dog:
ReplyDeleteShe captured our hearts
In her paws on that first day
And never let go.
BTW, I belatedly realized that I should be signing in here as "The Other Sally's Mom"!
